Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
Blepharoplasty, or eye lift surgery, is an extremely popular facial plastic surgery procedure that is used to modify the eyelids to create a vibrant and more youthful appearance of the eyes. There are two types of blepharoplasty that Dr. Paine can perform for his patients—upper blepharoplasty and lower blepharoplasty. Each type of eyelid surgery is designed to correct various signs of aging associated with the eyelids. An eyelid surgery procedure with Dr. Paine can help to achieve a dramatically younger, yet completely natural look.
Is Blepharoplasty Right for Me?
Blepharoplasty is best for men and women who are struggling with loose or excess skin along the upper eyelids, or puffiness beneath the eyes. Not all patients will require both upper and lower eyelid surgeries. Dr. Paine will talk with you to determine the best surgery plan to help achieve your desired results. Eyelid surgery can also be used for medical reasons, such as to correct a congenital disorder or to clear vision obstruction that is caused by sagging of the upper eyelid.
Swelling and bruising are common after having this procedure. Most swelling will subside within the first couple of weeks. Elevating your head will help to resolve the swelling. Daily routines can be resumed in a day or two; strenuous activity should be avoided for several weeks.
In several weeks, after the swelling and bruising have resolved, you will be able to see your final surgery results.
