As we age the first place we tend to notice it is in our face. Wrinkles in the forehead cause a great deal of concern for many of us. For some time, there has been the option of a surgical procedure to eliminate this problem, but in many cases it is not necessary to resort to something that aggressive. There is now an option for the reduction of wrinkles in the forehead and that area between the eyebrows, Dysport®.
Dysport® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in people 18 to 65 years of age. This procedure lasts for a period of time. Though temporary, results generally last for 3-4 months. Some long-term users state at times they will have a correction that lasts for up to 6 months. The locations of the injections is glabellar (meaning between eyes).
Dysport® has been used in Europe for over 15 years and was approved by the FDA for injection as a temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines (lines between the eyebrows and forehead) in adults. Patients that have undergone Dysport® treatments have been extremely satisfied with their results.
An ideal candidate would be someone who is unhappy with the area between and/or around the eyes or forehead due to visible signs of aging.
Dysport® is injected into the muscle in the determined treatment area. An option of a topical anesthetic application may be available prior to the injection. The amount being used and the locations will vary according to the patient. In some cases, wrinkles and lines may begin to fade within a week of receiving Dysport®. Treatment times usually take around 20 minutes and most patients are able to return to work right away.
Temporary soreness and/or mild bruising are common side effects of this treatment. A slight headache is also possible.
Several days after the treatment, your muscles will begin to relax and you will notice a more youthful appearance. Dysport® results can last from four to six months.

It would be wonderful if we could have wrinkle free skin all of our lives, but elements such as the wind and sunlight, coupled with the natural process of aging, takes a toll on our bodies — especially the face. If you have tried over-the-counter creams and lotions, but have not achieved your desired result then BOTOX® Cosmetic could be the answer for you.
BOTOX® is a prescription medicine that is commonly used for injecting into muscles to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in people 18 to 65 years of age for a period of time (temporary). The results are temporary–generally lasting for a period of 3-4 months; however, some long-term users state that at times the correction will last for up to 6 months.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is also effective for smoothing lines on other areas of the face, including crow’s feet and wrinkled lip lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a procedure that has been safely used to treat a variety of conditions for more than 10 years and is approved by the FDA. Dr. Paine has worked with a great number of patients to achieve very positive results.
No anesthesia is required during this treatment. However, an anesthetic cream may be used to numb the treatment area prior to the injections. Your ability to move various muscles in your facial area will determine where to administer the injections. Several tiny injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic will then be administered directly into the muscles impacting the treatment area. Patients are able to resume normal activity immediately. The procedure is so easy that you can have it done during your lunch break. Treatment time is approximately 15 minutes.
Patients are able to return to work immediately following treatment. Soreness and/or swelling around the injection site are possible.
Muscles will begin to relax and a more youthful appearance will be observed within days of the treatment. Treatments last between three to six months.
